Camp Grady Spruce

Although Camp Grady Spruce has been in existence on the shores of Possum Kingdom Lake since 1949, its history dates back to 1922 when the Dallas YMCA opened Camp Crockett near Granbury. Camp Grady Spruce, comprised of 865 acres, has three individual camp sites; each includes a dining hall, waterfront, corral and rental cabins/tents. Activity centers have recently been added to the Main and Ray Bean Camps. Over the years, Camp Grady Spruce has evolved from a summer camping facility to a year-round site offering everything from horseback riding to water-skiing to sailing to archery to arts and crafts.

In 1991, Camp Grady Spruce added an Outdoor Education Program, teaching 5th and 6th grade students the importance of environmental education. Camp Grady Spruce serves over 26,000 children and families per year.
